How to Use Ask Alex Search
Alex can search for documents in your workspace based on what you describe in plain language. You do not need to know how to write a search query yourself — Alex works it out from what you type.
How to Use Ask Alex Search
- Open Ask Alex in your workspace and enter what you’re looking for in the search box.
- Click Submit and wait for Alex to process the search.
- Alex will show the number of matching documents and up to 5 results, including the document name and folder. If there are more than 5 matches, Alex will provide a link to view all results in the search screen.Alex will also notify you if some documents could not be searched because they have not been indexed yet or their content was not indexed.
- Click the link to open the full search results and view all results in the search results panel.
- Refine your search if you do not get the results you expected. Try rephrasing your request or adding more specific criteria.
- Click the document name to view the document.
Notes
- Tip: You can include details such as keywords, file types, folders, tags, dates, etc
- If nothing is found: If no documents match your search, Alex will let you know and will not show a link to the search screen. Try rephrasing your request or adding more specific criteria.
- If something goes wrong: If Alex is unable to complete the search, it will let you know and will not attempt to answer from its own knowledge. Try rephrasing your request and ask again.
